Quickly control hazardous gas leaks with our compact, hand-operated emergency squeeze tool, the PS-62B. This lightweight, self-contained device can shut down pipes up to 2 inches IPS Schedule 40, regardless of whether the pipe jacket is removed. The closure is achieved through short pump strokes that deliver up to 18 tons of controlled force. To release the pressure, simply turn the release knob.
The PS-62B features a redesigned rounded jaw to reduce the risk of damaging brittle pipes or pipes with unknown chemical properties. For enhanced safety, any excessive pumping activates a unique Pressure Relief Bypass System without decreasing the pressure on the pipe itself.
Its latched lower jaw and 90° swivel head allow for operation in tight spaces. Additionally, steel-wire centering whiskers and non-conductive fiberglass insulated handles ensure a quicker and safer squeeze-off every time. There is also a provision for attaching a static grounding kit if desired.
Please note that the PS-62B is specifically designed to squeeze 2-inch Schedule 40 steel pipes. Since the chemical composition of steel pipes can vary, some 2-inch pipes may present challenges in achieving a successful squeeze-off. If extensive use on 2-inch pipes is expected, we recommend the Model PS-75.
