Our History

Phil and Liz Wiegers founded the company in May of 2001 in Flower Mound, Texas. This was the launching point for EGW & the beginning of a distribution company whose vision was not just to provide quality products and services to the natural gas, waterworks and plumbing industries, but to focus on solving customer problems. Through hard work and this unique approach, EGW sustained quick success, including the addition of two strategic partners, Jeff Burnett & Ford Femal. Today, two of the three remain fully involved in the company’s day to day operations. Wiegers serves as CEO and Femal as Vice President and Territory Manager for the South Texas region of EGW’s Gas Solutions Group.

 

After establishing EGW in the natural gas market, the ownership looked to increase its presence within the waterworks and plumbing industries. With this expansion, EGW quickly outgrew its space in Flower Mound, Texas and moved into a 75,000 square foot facility in Carrollton, Texas, where the company has been in operation since 2004. The company has grown into offering a variety of services to the natural gas industry, including Operator Qualification, training, fusion certification, equipment repair and several different field services.

 

Since its founding, EGW has grown from a regional distribution company, to a national solutions provider for the entire underground utility industry. Throughout the years, EGW has kept its commitment to providing the highest quality products, superior customer service, integrity & professionalism in all aspects of business, and constant support for our team members and the local community.
